its a week to go before the BIG KICK-OFF to the BARCLAYS ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE. lets check out as of 4th August, the transfer news around the EPL.
Aston Villa have completed the signing of United States Under-20 international Eric Lichaj.
The 18-year-old former Chicago Magic defender will go straight into Villa's Academy squad.
Lichaj is Villa's first American signing since the club were bought by Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner.
The 6ft defender, formerly at the University of North Carolina, will not be able to play until September as he is recovering from a broken foot.
Bolton boss Sammy Lee has added winger Daniel Braaten from Rosenborg to his list of summer signings.
Lee added: "Daniel is very direct and likes to take on defenders. He will complement the squad and provide excellent service to the forward line."
Everton have made £11m bid for Porto's Argentina midfield man Luis Gonzalez.
Boss David Moyes is attempting to push through a deal for the 26-year-old as he face competition from Juventus and Lyon for Gonzalez's signature. Everton are now awaiting a response to the bid, which would beat the club record £8.6m paid to Crystal Palace for Andrew Johnson.
Fulham have completed the signing of Melbourne Victory defender Adrian Leijer on a three-year contract.
Leijer had an unsuccessful trial with Everton as a youngster, but has rebuilt his career in the A-League.
West Ham manager Alan Curbishley has said that Kieron Dyer's move from Newcastle is "definitely off".
The two clubs had agreed a fee thought to be £6m for the 28-year-old midfielder but Curbishley has blamed Newcastle for the move collapsing.
"We made an offer, had it accepted, agreed personal terms and the player passed a medical," he said.
"But it was pulled at the 11th hour by Newcastle and there's not much we can do about that."
West Ham have revealed they have reached agreement for Carlos Tevez to leave Upton Park and complete his protracted move to Manchester United.
The settlement ends the threat of High Court action between West Ham and Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian. West Ham will receive a £2m fee for Tevez's registration and the move has been approved by the Premier League.
The 23-year-old Argentine striker is understood to have passed a medical and trained with United on Friday morning.
